That day the MLB franchise announced a fan vote would determine which player would serve as the model for the team’s final bobblehead of the 2014 promotional schedule. Moved by the prospect of a bobblehead with rec specs, the people selected Clippard over new manager Matt Williams and first baseman Adam LaRoche. The pitchers were behind him all the way.
The team announced the news Monday, and Washington Post beat writer James Wagner got Clippard’s reaction in a blog post published Thursday morning. All this bobble media begged the question, what are the
bobtions bobblehead options for Redskins fans?
Sidenote: I would love to interview a bobblehead artisan. The bodies don’t vacillate much, but each face presents a challenge. Some depictions are better than others. Maybe there’s only so much you can do with a giant head.
To the left you’ll see a picture of the Robert Griffin III bobblehead offered for $20.00 at the offical team store.
The first RGIII bobble is awesome because it kind of looks like Billy Dee Williams.
That’s the only option on the team store, but officially licensed vendor Clark Toys offers more choices.
Here’s an Alfred Morris doll with a crooked beard.
Larry Michael has replicas of the Hogettes inside the “Redskins Nation” studio, but I’m not sure where he found them.
That’s about all I’ve got, so I’ll continue blogging about more pressing matters – such as sock selfies – until free agency opens on March 11.
