If you were to mine the 2013 season for silver linings, rookie tight end Jordan Reed‘s emergence would be a solid place to start digging.

Reed earned a spot on the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) All-Rookie Team and set new franchise rookie records for tight ends with 45 receptions for 499 yards. He started four contests, scored three touchdowns and recorded one carry for 18 yards.

In an article published Thursday, NFL Media Analyst Elliot Harrison named the Florida product as the best tight end in the NFL younger than 25. Reed was the only Washington player on the list, but there are several productive Redskins who have yet to see their car insurance premiums decline.

THE TOP REDSKINS UNDER 25

To date Washington has 22 players who would have trouble renting a car on the roster.

It’s worth noting that some of the team’s most productive players from 2013 are barely over the age limit. Alfred Morris (1,275 yards rushing), Trent Williams (two-time Pro Bowler), Ryan Kerrigan (8.5 sacks), Perry Riley Jr. (115 tackles),  Jarvis Jenkins (two sacks), Roy Helu Jr. (four touchdowns), Leonard Hankerson (30 receptions) and Aldrick Robinson (365 yards receiving) are all 25 years old.

That being said, here are four more players under 25 to watch.

- QB Robert Griffin III, 24: The Heisman Trophy winner from Baylor lit up the NFL in 2012, winning AP Rookie of the Year Honors and setting rookie records for passer rating (102.4) percentage of passes had intercepted (1.27) and rushing yards by a quarterback (815). The young quarterback returned from a catastrophic knee injury to open the 2013 season against the Philadelphia Eagles. In his second year, Griffin III passed for 33.1 more yards per game but threw four less touchdowns and seven more interceptions. RGIII turned 24 on Tuesday.

-CB DAVID AMERSON, 22: Amerson ended his rookie season with 48 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble. his 45-yard pick-six accounted for Washington’s first touchdown at Oakland in its first win of the season. Amerson knocked San Diego running back Danny Woodhead out of bounds within in the 1-yard line to ignite a fourth-quarter goal line stand in an overtime victory over the Chargers.

-TE NILES PAUL, 24: A versatile tight end converted from a college wide receiver, Paul is an effective blocker and key member of several special teams units. He led Washington with in special teams tackles (16) and kickoff returns (20) in 2013. The Nebraska product started for four games for the Redskins, catching four passes for 51 yards.

-CB RICHARD CRAWFORD, 23: A seventh-round selection in the 2012 NFL Draft, Crawford made an impact in 10 games as a rookie. He returned a punt 64 yards for a touchdown in an overtime win against Baltimore and picked off Tony Romo in an NFC East clinching contest against Dallas in 2012. Crawford spent his sophomore campaign on the injured/reserve list after suffering a knee injury in a preseason game against Buffalo but could help solve the Redskins woes in the secondary and on special teams in 2014.
