Alfred Morris was cheerful as always, but he could only answer the question with a harumph.
Morris was asked to provide his highlight from a 2013 season in which he rushed for 1,275 yards, scored seven touchdowns and earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl. The humble runner sat on the Xfinity Couch before the “NFL Honors” award show Saturday night and focused on the team’s record instead.
“Hmmm. I haven’t really thought about the highlight,” Morris said.
“I guess going over 1,000 again… It’s bittersweet because I would much rather have team success than individual success, but it happened. We learned a lot from this year, so I’m glad for the growth. Going into next year, I know we’ll be a lot better.”
Good answer, Alfred.
Looking dapper in his bow tie, Morris put out a goal for 2014.
“Every team’s goal is to win the Super Bowl. We want to be here, which will be Arizona next year. We want to be in the Super Bowl next year.”
