Joe Gibbs was like a lot of Redskins fans.

A 10-6 record, an NFC East championship and a playoff berth in 2012 made the three-time Super Bowl champion expect continued success for Washington.

In an interview with Larry Michael Friday afternoon on Super Bowl XLVIII Radio Row, Gibbs said a 3-13 season in 2013 reinforced a simple message. Read more »

Ranking The Redskins Super Bowls

Posted by Gabe Hiatt on January 31, 2014 – 12:38 pm

Rankings are fun, but I don’t know what I’ll do in the space between the Super Bowl hoopla and free agent evaluations. I guess I could rank the leftover cheese in my fridge.

It’s not looking good for you, herbed cheddar. You’re safer than you think, American singles. But it’s not cheese time, yet.  NFL Media analyst Elliot Harrison compiled a ranking of the most exciting championships with help from Gil Brandt.

Personally, I think Super Bowl XVII could have been ranked a little higher. John Riggins’ run is a top-10 signature Super Bowl moment.

Why is Super Bowl XXV No. 4? Capturing a championship because of a missed field goal doesn’t seem that epic. (LEAVE SCOTT NORWOOD ALONE). Maybe it’s just my age, but I also think Super Bowl XXXIV should be ranked better. Mike Jones yanking Kevin Dyson short of the goal line on the final play was as memorable as any game-winning touchdown pass. My top choice has to be Super Bowl III. Joe Namath’s wagging index finger backing up “the guarantee” in slow motion makes me feel some type of way.

Below you’ll find the Redskins selections. Washington barely cracked the top 20. Take a look and tweet your feedback to @Harrison_NFL.

The 6-foot-4 Washington Wizards point guard ranks fourth in the NBA in assists (8.5 apg), fifth in steals (1.93 spg) and 18th in scoring (19.8 ppg). He’ s nominated for Eastern Conference Player of the Month.

Robert Griffin III respects that. He’s been a Wall fan since his first Wizards game.
