London Fletcher Gets A Sweet Surprise

London Fletcher’s retirement has been well-covered in this space, but the coolest thing happened today.

According to his Instagram account, Fletcher’s teammates surprised him with the prettiest, if not the most accurate, edible commemoration of a 16-year football career I’ve ever seen.

If I were London, I would call the Super Bowl ring slice. Cake metals are my favorite.

Congrats to a true warrior. Truely the heartbeat of the defense. Your leadership will truely be missed.

You are the one player that my father (Rams fan) and myself (Redskins fan) both could agree on represented the game the way it was meant to be.

    Thank you.

Congrats and thank you for all the dedication and hard work, Well Done! Hopefully you will be offered a position with the Redskins to continue to be that much needed mentor and leader.

Thanks for your leadership and inspiring play. When my family proposed to get me a Redskins shirt, I asked for number 59. So now there’s a London Fletcher shirt way out here in Wyoming. Thanks for being a great player and a ‘character guy’.
