Fan Appreciation Week: Thank You Redskins Fans In Dallas!

Posted by Redskins.com on January 7, 2014 – 5:33 pm

All week long, the Washington Redskins will be thanking fans for the tremendous support we received on the road. Throughout the 2013 season, Washington supporters from all over the country attended Redskins Rallies, where they had the chance to meet Bruce Allen and members of the Redskins Radio Network. Fans entered raffles to win memorabilia, game tickets and field passes.

We’d like to thank Champps Americana in Irving, Texas, for hosting a raucous Redskins Rally. Owner Daniel M. Snyder and his wife Tanya Snyder were on hand to thank the fans along with the usual crew, and NBA superstar Kevin Durant joined the Redskins’ road warriors at AT&T Stadium.

Fred Davis Has Fancy Footwear

Posted by Gabe Hiatt on January 7, 2014 – 4:30 pm

Fred Davis is a self-professed shoe head.

That means he’s into shoes, not that he wears them on his head. On second thought, I don’t really know what Fred is into in his spare time. I have no evidence he wears shoes on his head, but I’ll keep that possibility afloat.

Anyway, this week we’re rolling out some of the best interviews from “Redskins Late Night.” In the first installment, comedian Chris Paul asks Davis about his baller Giuseppe Zanotti sneakers and how healthy he felt after the 2013 preseason.

Teammates Vote Robert Griffin III 2013 Ed Block Courage Award Recipient

Posted by Gabe Hiatt on January 7, 2014 – 1:24 pm

To his teammates, Robert Griffin III embodied extraordinary courage in the face of adversity.

The Washington Redskins announced Tuesday the players voted Griffin III the winner of the 2013 Ed Block Courage Award.

True to his word, Griffin III was ready for Week 1, returning to football 242 days after suffering a catastrophic knee injury against the Seattle Seahawks in the 2012 postseason.

The quarterback passed for 329 yards, threw two touchdowns and completed 61.2 percent of his passes against the Philadelphia Eagles after missing the entire preseason. He went on to start all 13 games he participated in and threw for a career-high 3,202 yards.

Adam Carriker, Aldrick Robinson Call Florida State Over Auburn For BCS Title

When No. 2 Auburn went up, 21-3, on  No. 1 Florida State in the first half of the Vizio BCS National Championship Monday night, defensive end Adam Carriker looked like a man who should stick to pro wrestling analysis.

With 00:13 left on the clock in Pasadena, Calif., Carriker looked like Nostradamus.

FSU Heisman Winner Jameis Winston completed a 2-yard touchdown pass to Kelvin Benjamin to cap off the two-minute drill and win the game. Roberto Aguayo’s extra point made the final score 34-31.

Before the game, Carriker predicted a score just one point shy of what transpired.
