Redskins Offseason Diversions: Monopoly, Playstation And Chicken & Waffles

Posted by Gabe Hiatt on January 6, 2014 – 11:47 am

Offseason priorities include rest, recuperation and dominating your loved ones in a fabricated economy while piling stacks on stacks like Rich “Uncle” Pennybags.

Thanks to social media, here’s a glimpse of the human beings behind the burgundy and gold in the latest edition of “Washington Redskins, They’re Just Like Us!”

Will Compton graduated from the practice squad to the active roster for the 2013 regular season finale. Over the weekend, the linebacker got cozy with a family game of Monopoly.

No news on if Compton went bold with the cat piece.

When he’s not tweeting rap lyrics, Pierre Garçon enjoys impromptu visits from his nieces and testing the video game selection at Walmart.

Kirk Cousins finally made it to the Rose Bowl. He capped off his California trip by throwing to high schoolers and delving into the rich tradition of breakfast pastries and batter-slathered poultry.

London Fletcher set the tone and the tempo at a father daughter dance in between weighing in on football games

Niles Paul has been tweeting a lot, but one message stuck me in the way back machine.

I can’t speak to the quality of animation these days. But I’m not much older than Paul, so I can say we lived through a golden age of after school programming.

On that note, R.I.P. to James Avery, the voice of Shredder and the actor behind the immortal “Uncle Phil.”

Aldrick Robinson is looking to expand his library. Books are like food for your brain. If your brain was hungry and ran on processed trees. It’s kind of a metaphor.

Trenton Robinson watched the boys in blue hard at work. Who doesn’t enjoy an occasional dalliance with police (through the television).

Chris Baker put on his Sunday best. Looking sharp, Chris. It’s good to see where that smile comes from.

What have you been doing to fill the void?
