“It’s gonna be a great new feeling, it’s gonna be a fresh new start. We got a lot of great receivers around us, and we’re gonna make things happen.”
That was Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon just moments after signing a lucrative contract during the 2012 free agency period.
Knowing they’d be selecting a stud quarterback just weeks later (Robert Griffin III), Washington went out and got the top receiving threat on the market.
Some questioned the decision.
Washington’s making a silly move during free agency once again, guys. Shoot he was the No. 3 receiver in Indy for a majority of his tenure.
Well he was behind two legends and he hadn’t fully developed yet. But keep on hatin’ on.
In 2013, he proved he can be the guy and then some. Setting a franchise-record for receptions in a season with 113, the six-year veteran also accumulated a career-high 1,346 yards and five touchdowns.
A quick look back at his season:
In front of a cheesy crowd in Green Bay, Garcon nabbed a well thrown ball on a perfectly executed screen and raced up field for a 44-yard gain:
The Black Hole may be able to stop light from coming in, but it can’t stop Garcon:
Enjoy having your mandible hit the ground for the thousandth time watching this sick one-handed act against Denver:

Hey Minnesota–check the name on the back:
In Atlanta, he had a season-long 53-yard touchdown:
