ESPN’s John Clayton Lists 10 Coaches As Options For The Redskins

Posted by Gabe Hiatt on December 31, 2013 – 10:37 am

Executive Vice President/General Manager Bruce Allen kicked off the search for the next head coach of the Redskins on Monday.

ESPN’s ace NFL reporter John Clayton released his own list of 10 potential options.

Allen said the franchise would try to act swiftly enough to get its man but slowly enough to properly judge candidates. The executive said the team would keep its interviewees close to the vest.

“Because of league rules, we’re not going to try and publicize who we’re going to try and talk to,” Allen said.

“It really is an open list. It will have NFL coaches, it will have college coaches on it. Some have head coaching experience, some don’t, and I’m really looking forward to meeting some of the people who I haven’t met yet.”

Clayton listed four college head coaches, three current NFL offensive coordinators and three NFL assistants. Two of the men on the list had playing experience with the Redskins.

To be clear, this post is no endorsement of any men on the list. I have no knowledge of whom the Redskins plan to interview, but I am interested in one senior reporter’s opinion of who would be a good fit.

Even if our taste in music differs.

I strongly feel that the #1 Priority for the next Head Coach is to Cultivate TEAM Players! When this is achieved, the Winning Seasons will return!

Doesn’t matter who they get,as long as the players feel they can bypass the coach n go straight to the owner ,this clown show will never end. This organization is a joke n it will never ever change. All they do is get your hopes built up n then rip ur hearts out of ur chest.Im tired of putting my time n energy into these clowns n also my hard earned money on these jokers.Bunch of babies n whiners, all they care bout is themselves n taking care of their families, getting that check at end of their week. These clowns out there laughing n havin a good time wit their terrible play cause guess wat ,they r still picking up their millions of dollars.tHey don’t care n if they did they would’ve played for the future hall of fame coach mr shsnahan, ran his name into the ground I can honestly say they lost me ,I’m not spending another dime on these bums until they can play for my hard earned money consitantly,I’m done u jokers
