“Sometimes it’s good to be hated, ” Santana Moss said.
He understands how you might detest him if you’re a Cowboys fan. He’s okay with that because he hurt your feelings and wants to hurt them again.
In his just second game as Redskin, Moss caught 5 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns in a 14-13 Monday Night Miracle.
On Redskins Late Night, hosted by Chris Paul and presented by the Greene Turtle, Moss discussed his role in the rivalry.
“That really kind of started my career off here,” Moss said. “That night kind of changed everything about who I’ve become to be a Redskin now.”
Moss said beating Dallas would “shine a light on some of the dark times that we’ve had this season.”
“Regardless of if we were winning – and obviously we’re not right now and this year – beating the Cowboys is everything. To some fans beating the Cowboys is like winning the Super Bowl. But to be honest with you, for the sake of a player… that really believes in this rivalry, likes this rivalry, loves to play big in this rivalry, I think beating the Cowboys would mean a lot to our season.”
*Redskins Late Night airs 1:30 a.m. Sunday mornings on NBC-4.
