Kirk Cousins: Griffin III ‘Very Helpful’

Posted by Gabe Hiatt on December 13, 2013 – 2:30 pm

With another indoor workout in the books, Kirk Cousins has three practices as the first-team quarterback under his belt before leading the Redskins on the road at Atlanta.

On Friday afternoon, Cousins talked about how Robert Griffin III has helped him throughout the transition.

“He’s great,” Cousins said of Griffin III. “He’s been helpful. I ask him about different concepts and his experience with different plays, how he thinks certain plays should be read.

“He’s been very helpful and very positive. Like I said, he’s taking the high road. It doesn’t change the fact he’s our franchise quarterback.

And this too shall pass. Good idea to start Cousins and rest RG, he needs it . He has taken a beating this season! Courtesy of a weak offensive line, and poor play calling from the O.C.. Even Payton couldn’t score enough points to keep up with what the defense has given up this year. Not to mention the Special Teams!!!!! And lets not talk about the drop passes, good lord. Of course there is the usual injuries to key players (Reed- he was on fire). But at the end of the day, it’s a team effort. Unfortunately they have all come up short in what needed to be done. In RG’s defense, just my opinion, read option QB, not 1 snap in pre-season, starts the regular season off favoring the knee. You can see where the plays favored a 3/5 step drop back QB, unfair to expect RG to turn into a pocket passer over night. Rest well RG, come back healthy ready to roll in 2014!! Good luck Sunday boys! Oh yeah, Dallas will be home for the holidays as well, so that helps ease the pain. Snider, start buying up and coming talent, not some other teams has been’!
