ESPN Tracked Miguel Maysonet’s NFL Path

Posted by Gabe Hiatt on December 11, 2013 – 7:00 am

Miguel Maysonet’s pre-draft process had an added wrinkle.

While the running back was aiming to boost his stock out of Stony Brook, ESPN New York reporter Rich Cimini followed him around with a notepad.

On Tuesday, the Redskins added Maysonet to the practice squad to fill in for Jawan Jamison, who was promoted to the active roster after the team placed Evan Royster on the reserve/injured list.

Before Maysonet came to D.C., Cimini chronicled his path from small school stud to undrafted free agent in five-part series.

Part 1: Maysonet prepares for the NFL Scouting Combine and draws comparisons to Ray Rice and Ahmad Bradshaw

Part 2: Maysonet details the gauntlet of medical and mental testing at the combine, where he was limited by a hamstring injury

Part 3: Maysonet works out for scouts at his pro day

Part 4: Maysonet auditions for the Giants, Jets and Patriots

Part 5: Maysonet’s long draft day and eventual signing with Philadelphia

Maysonet’s 71-yard touchdown run against Syracuse earned him a spot in SportsCenter’s Top 10.

This 2012 NFL Draft Profile suggests the runner could be a good fit with the Redskins, listing his pro comparison as Alfred Morris.
