Kirk Cousins Could Go To First Rose Bowl

Kirk Cousins will stay in the D.C. area today, studying film, sitting in meetings and getting a proper night’s rest before the Redskins take on the Chiefs Sunday afternoon.

But a piece of him will travel to Indianapolis, where the Michigan State Spartans will play the Ohio State Buckeyes in the fourth annual Big Ten football championship game kicking off at 8:17 p.m.

“I gotta prepare,” Cousins said. “I won’t be able to watch much of it. Gotta get to bed on time. I’ll be in meetings, but my heart will be in Indianapolis with the Spartans.”

Week 14 Infographic: Redskins Chiefs

The Redskins and the Chiefs traded places. Last season the Chiefs had the worst record in football, losing all but two games and occupying the basement of the NFC West. In 2012 the Redskins made a miraculous run, winning the NFC East thanks in part to a seven-game winning streak.

Under Andy Reid, Kansas City won its first nine games in 2013 and is the top wild card seed in the AFC. Washington is looking for its first win in five games.
