Coach’s Turn: Mike Shanahan At The Mic

Time and time again this season the Washington Redskins have had opportunities to lay claim to a winning record yet enter Week 12 with the same record they did in 2011–3-7.

If it isn’t the offense sputtering than the defense is getting shredded on yards after carry and catch. If it isn’t the defense getting surgically dissected than it’s the special teams either failing to nail that much-needed coffin corner punt or allowing specialists to whizz past them en route to return touchdowns.

Sunday was practically a duplicate of the season opener. Quickly in a large deficit against the Eagles, the Redskins had to discard Alfred Morris (despite another fantastic outing) in the second half as they went pass-heavy.

That pass centered attack resulted in a game-ending interception on a play Robert Griffin III admitted he shouldn’t have made.

Standing in front of the media this afternoon, head coach Mike Shanahan addressed every question from yet another disappointing loss.

RGriffin was giving us a chance to win? What was Shanny watching?
