Ryan Kerrigan’s Movember Journey

Summer Wheatley isn’t the only person who will end up losing to Pedro in his lifetime.

You may have already started to see the man scruff coming out as Movember is officially here.

Men who normally sport clean-cut looks discard the razor for the next month in a movement to help raise money for men’s cancer research.

For some it might be a refreshing look. For others such as Ryan Kerrigan, it’s a traumatizing month of reminders that the peach fuzz over the upper lip in high school hasn’t gotten much better.

No one is going to be confusing the third-year linebacker with Nick Offerman or Tom Selleck anytime soon.

From FedExField To The Maternity Ward

Aldrick Robinson

Three weeks ago against Chicago, Aldrick Robinson raced 45 yards down the field, spun his back toward a defender and scooped a pass into his stomach to score a touchdown.

The wide receiver’s impeccable timing runs in the family.

After a 30-24 overtime win over the Chargers on Sunday, Robinson cleaned up, got dressed and drove directly to a maternity ward. His wife, Bianca, was a couple hours away from going into labor with the couple’s first child.

Each year bring new challenges and for quarterback Robert Griffin III, he’s faced more than he’d probably ever want to deal with.

Recovering from major knee surgery, having to harness his competitive spirit in rehab, fighting through frustrating performances and now living up to last year’s Redskins-Vikings performance where he did this.

Coming off a solid performance, Griffin III addressed a No. 10 starved audience about all things Minnesota Vikings. After all it had been a whole 48 hours since they last spoke to him.

Quick hits of his press conference courtesy of Redskins’ Twitter (@Redskins):

Coach’s Turn: Mike Shanahan At The Mic

It may not be the Metrodome but Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan did the best he could to replicate the elements of the Viking’s home turf for his team today at practice inside the indoor practice facility.

With a wacky schedule on the short week (the team is normally out in the community on Tuesdays giving back to those who cheer them on) the guys practiced in hats and shorts, making sure not to put too much stress on their bodies before Thursday’s game.

Here’s the elephant in the room in preparation of the Vikings—stopping Adrian Peterson.

Well in a shocking development Shanahan was asked about stopping the reigning MVP seventeen times this afternoon.

VIDEO: Fletcher’s Entrance In Slow Motion

While you can spot a majority of his colleagues at the local bingo hall with a colorful stamp in their hands, Washington Redskins linebacker London Fletcher is still doing what he does best.

Pumping up his teammates with a potent pregame speech that makes everyone around him, this writer include, have the adrenaline rush of a lifetime,  slamming down rookie running backs who idolized him growing up and being the last defensive player out of the tunnel on home gamedays with a burgundy helmet in tow.

Just for the seasoned, 16-year pro here’s a slow-motion video (that may or may not be a joke intended to poke at his age) of his entrance from Sunday:

Redskins Weekly Stat Ranking Update

Posted by Stephen Czarda on November 5, 2013 – 10:25 am

(AP Image)

(AP Image)

In December of 1998, Psycho was the No. 1 box office hit, London Fletcher was a spry NFL rookie and Santana Moss was wrapping up a second historical season at the University of Miami.

It was also the last time the Washington Redskins walked out of a hard fought game against the San Diego Chargers with victory.

Well so much for that because Psycho is stashed away in my dust-ridden VHS collection, London Fletcher could rock a grizzly, salt and pepper grey beard for No Shave November that even George Clooney would get jealous of, Santana Moss has or is close to hitting several NFL statistical plateaus and the Redskins hold a one-game winning streak over the Bolts.

Anyway, this week’s weekly stat ranking update features a whole lot of Alfred Morris yards per carry, Fletcher takedowns and DeAngelo Hall touchdown celebrations.
