Usually on gamedays I post GIFs of some of the best plays such as Pierre Garcon beaming in footballs with one hand like he has a magnet under his glove, Darrel Young reaffirming the importance of the fullback position and Jordan Reed breaking Cowboys taluses.
When Robert Griffin III went airborne yesterday before landing in an awkward position I paused, waited and ultimately decided not to hit publish on a GIF I found of the gravity defying moment.
Now knowing that his sacrifice for the team in a tie game didn’t result in anything more than a slight cringe, it’s safe to say I can now post the sucker here:
Move over Superman, you’re not the only man who wants to test out his flight skills.
“I saw an opportunity to fly, so I got my wings and tried to fly,” Griffin III joked after the game. “I hit the ground pretty hard, so you know, people, we really can’t fly. No matter how much we dream about it, but I just saw the opportunity and at that point in the game I thought we needed it and that’s why I took it.”
All’s good on Monday’s after Redskins victories.
And if you couldn’t get enough from the moving image above, here’s complete video from his “Big Air” moment:
