How lucky is wide receiver Pierre Garcon?

Well he’s spent his entire six-year career with an elite quarterback making his job of catching the ball that much easier. So yeah he’s pretty stinkin’ lucky.

Credit goes to his superb route running skills, his 4.4 speed that is just so obvious on gamedays and his high football IQ, but having Peyton Manning and Robert Griffin III at your disposal certainly doesn’t hurt.

Today marks the first time he’s entering Sports Authority Field at Mile High with Griffin III at his side and Manning on the other side.

Garcon was drafted by the Colts on the back-end of the most successful run in franchise history. Just a kid trying to live out his dream, the former Mount Union star instantly built a rapport with Manning and his established core, knowing very well that the offense centered around the former Super Bowl MVP and his intricate audible packages.

“Some take longer than others, but when I came to Indy I was just listening to whatever he had to say and watching him Reggie [Wayne], Marvin [Harrison], [and] Dallas [Clark] doing their thing and then just following their steps. So it was me just listening to whatever they said to do.”

His stories of preparation are legendary. Like a nagging mother’s persistence to have you clean your room as an adolescent, Manning demands reviews of the offense throughout the week. I would hate to be his roommate on road trips.

“He gets everyone on the same page and we go over details a lot in meeting and in practice and walkthroughs. [He’s] putting guys in different situations to make sure that they are on their task.

“Best quarterback to probably ever play the game and he’s still doing great things.”

Respect due, but at the end of the day no one really wants to see you on the winning end, Peyton.
