Coach’s Turn: Kyle Shanahan At The Mic

As rain approached Redskins Park once again, offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan rushed to the podium (inside the building) faster than his offense did to the line of scrimmage during the first drive Sunday against the Cowboys.

Along with a brief appearance against the Raiders in Week 4, the no-huddle has proven effective when used. Darting down the field, the Redskins speed can’t be matched. The problem is, and it’s not just during a hurried offense, drives have ended in three instead of seven points.

The bye proved clear worth to quarterback Robert Griffin III as neither the knee brace nor the Cowboys D-line could stop him from taking off and showing that quick we all know and love. Now, the offense needs to put together a complete performance: rushing, passing, blocking and time management.

Anyway, Shanahan spoke about Griffin III, Fred Davis’ presence in certain packages, his thoughts of defenses using a spy and more.
