The Redskins weathered a pretty tough storm to start the season.

Filled with unnecessary penalties, untimely turnovers, chunks of yards given up and not enough first downs converted, the burgundy and gold found themselves where not even the biggest naysayers thought possible—0-3.

Then, after only 15 minutes in the Black Hole, the forecast looked even gloomier. Down 14-0, it was déjà vu all over again. It happened against the Eagles. It happened against the Packers. And now it was happening against a Raiders team they were predicted to roll over.

Just as my old high school coach, your old high school coach with the toothpick in his mouth and head coach Mike Shanahan say regularly–play until the final whistle.

With a 24-14 victory over the Raiders the capper of the first quarter of the season, we’re asking you who YOU think is MVR(edskin).

Garcon On Bye Week, Prep For Dallas

Seeing as it is now Thursday of the Bye Week, not much is going on around Redskins Park. A parking lot normally full of player, staff and media cars on a typical Thursday has plenty of open spots.

Players are enjoying their time away just like head coach Mike Shanahan wanted them to do.

“The thing that you’re hoping is that they run a couple of times, and we emphasize that to our players,” Shanahan told the media at his Tuesday press conference, the last before next week. “It is time to get away. They’ve been going eight, nine weeks, and they’ve been getting after it and when the Bye Week comes, it comes. So, enjoy your time with the family then come back for the second half ready to go.”

Now enjoying his sixth Bye Week, Pierre Garcon had advice for his rookie teammates experiencing their first.
