Coach’s Turn: Mike Shanahan At The Mic

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan addressed the media this afternoon at team headquarters after a second straight disappointing game, hampered this time by ineffectiveness to move the ball on offense and being completely vexed by Aaron Rodgers and the aerial attack.

In total, his team was outgained in yards (580 to 422), first downs (28 to 18), time of possession (32:29 to 27:31) and ultimately the most important category–points.

Despite having the same core as last year’s 10-6, NFC East winning squad and the return of beast linebacker Brian Orakpo, things seem unusually out of sync for a team that dominated on the ground last season and were as opportunistic as any on the defensive side of the ball.

    This is such a disappointment. there are too many areas that need “bandaids”. Hopefully we can win some games.
