Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan addressed the media following a disappointing 38-20 loss in which his squad once again had to play catch-up in the second half.

While his team showed improvement from Monday night’s bitter defeat, the reality is that a loss is a loss and they have yet to win a game this season.

Anyway, here is coach Shanahan in his own words at Lambeau Field:

I believe in Mike Shanahan and this TEAM. Coach Shanahan has the knowlege and experience to get this Season turned around and get Wins in the Win Column.

This has got to be a TEAM effort….he knows that and so does the Fans!

Good things are comning for this TEAM! I am confident the hard work and effort that has been put into building the present 53 Player Roster will pay off!

This team is going NO WHERE because of their inability to convert on 3 rd down and their terrible defense. As much as RGII had been electric last year, you can see he is not the same unless he can be somewhat mobile and London Fletcher has been a rock and has controlled the middle of the field for years, but his time has passed. He is too slow to cover and is being exposed. Also, the defenders need to learn how to tackle and wrap up. Things you learn in highschool but forget in the pros! Very dissappointing start to the season and don’t know how they can change unless the make personal changes and I don’t see them doing that yet.

Mike Shanahan what were you thinking…asking Potter to attempt a 50+ yd. field goal for his first ever field goal in the NFL. Your gambles are ludicrous. Better to have pooch-punted it or gone for it on 4th down. Please make better decisions in the future.

I’ve been a skins fan since 1971 and I’d like to be optimistic, but I can’t bring myself to it. The performance this last two weeks is among the worst I’ve seen by any team in a long time. There’s no offensive or defense being played. Guys are celebrating a few decent plays while they’re down by double digits. Example: After Green Bay broke off a 10 yard run, Meriweather led with his helmet and leveled the running back. He got up thumping his chest like a hero after a great Packer run and an illegal hit. Not willing to learn, he led with his helmet again and got himself hurt. Time to cut players like that.

With another crappy performance at Detroit, this season is most likely lost. When the team has come back in the past to make a run at the playoffs, there have been signs of hope. I don’t see that this time. It is hard to believe this was a playoff team last year. I hope I’m wrong.
