Joe Theismann wasn’t the biggest quarterback.
Nor did he have a howitzer arm.
But he made up for it with leadership and toughness.
Case in point: In a 1982 game against the New York Giants, he had two teeth knocked out on a sack in the first half, when he also threw four interceptions.
He didn’t fold. What he did was convince himself he would do whatever it took to win.
