Monday’s announcement from his head coach Mike Shanahan that he’d officially been named the starter for the season opener against the Eagles was a breath of fresh air for quarterback Robert Griffin III. A little less than eight months after suffering an injury that for most takes 12 months to fully recover from, the reigning AP Offensive Rookie of the Year’s vow that he’s all in for Week 1 was confirmed.
Now the question remains how will he perform against live action for the first time in eight months under the national spotlight focused on his every step. The last time all eyes were on him at FedExField, he was jumping up and down proclaiming he’d be ready to–that was at the Draft Day Party in April.
Anyway, the 2011 Heisman-winning quarterback spoke to the media about the next chapter in his football career.
