Madden Ratings For The Redskins Defense

Posted by Stephen Czarda on August 23, 2013 – 8:08 pm

On Monday, the Redskins Blog posted about the offensive units rankings in Madden 25 with the biggest surprises being Kirk Cousins’ low rating (75) and center Will Montgomery taking home the honor of the highest rating (90). While taking nothing away from the veteran center, most expected either Robert Griffin III, Trent Williams, Alfred Morris or even Pierre Garcon to be the highest rated player. Still, virtual defenses will have just as hard of a time stopping the read-option as the rest of the NFC East will–in real life.

Plus it’s always nice (or maybe not so depending on your outlook) to have that one friend who actually stops the game from ending in a 80-76 shootout. You know, makes it a little more realistic.

It took a little bit longer than expected, but here at the full rankings for the Washington Redskins defense with four days until the release of the 25th edition of Madden starting with rookie cornerback David Amerson.

CB David Amerson–69

CB Jerome Murphy–70

CB Josh Wilson–83

CB E.J. Biggers–74

CB Richard Crawford–69

CB DeAngelo Hall–81

NT Ron Brace–70

NT Chris Baker–74

NT Barry Cofield–83

NT Chris Neild–71

FS Jordan Pugh–70

FS Phillip Thomas–72

FS Reed Doughty–74

DE Jarvis Jenkins–79

DE Adam Carriker–78

DE Kedric Golston–72

DE Stephen Bowen–81

DE Phillip Merling–70

OLB Ryan Kerrigan–87

OLB Vic So’oto–66

OLB Darryl Tapp–69

OLB Ricky Elmore–69

OLB Brian Orakpo–90

OLB Brandon Jenkins–64

OLB Rob Jackson–77

MLB London Fletcher–82

MLB Roddrick Muckelroy–64

MLB Perry Riley–78

MLB Keenan Robinson–60

MLB Bryan Kehl–66

SS Brandon Meriweather–78

SS Dejon Gomes–72

SS Bacarri Rambo-71

Similar to the offense, the defense only boasts one player rated 90 or higher (Orakpo–just imagine if played all of last season. Scary.) but several in the 80’s to included Kerrigan (jumping at 69, because that’s a must know after Monday’s slam dunk) , Fletcher, Wilson, Bowen, Cofield and Hall.

In total here’s how the ratings for all of the Redskins stack up based on the number of players at increments of ten–kinda like grade school. Hey it’s back to school season.

100-90: 2

89-80: 16

79-70: 29

69 or below: 23

Also it’s kind of interesting to see that Amerson is rated at 69 considering the grading scale. He might be the first on the defensive side that will see major change to his rating after the first update.

Until then–keep those thumb exercises coming. Only 75 more hours to go.

Lol the ratings are a joke. It Jus tells you that whom ever is doing the rating is not a fan of the skins lol. How can your center rank higher then Ur star Qb? Plus why is Morris speed only 87? The O line should be one of the best in the game if u lead the LG in rushing second I can see the pass d the way out is but the run d was very stout and if kerrakpo is a top 5 tandom why can’t they get to the qb like others can. Also Rg3 and his play action should be one of the best if not the best in the game only a 76? And awareness only a 70 but luck n Wilson n higher lolol was his qbr the best in the LG? Lol all we ask is to be fair with it u give them a 86 rating as a team but there play is that of a 79 rated team.Garcon n Santana get open but on the game they get pressed hard lol if the skins do it again how will they be in next yrs Madden lol
