For those of you who haven’t heard yet, Randy Moss is an analyst on the new Fox Football Daily, a show dedicated to—you guessed it football on the brand new Fox Sport 1 channel.

Moss who spent time all over the NFL from Minnesota to Oakland to New England back to Minnesota, (briefly) then Tennessee and then most recently San Francisco (I can only image the number of frequent flier miles he’s racked up over the years) has never played on the Washington Redskins before, but he knows the team’s got the makings of something special this year.

When asked who he thinks will win the NFC East this year—the probable future Hall of Famer had three words.

And no it wasn’t “I pick Washington”–although it was close.

Here’s video of Moss’ thoughts:

The last few weeks for the Washington Redskins have been busy to say the least.

First, the team packed thousands of pounds of equipment and headed south to Richmond, hopped on a plane headed to Nashville for a game against the Tennessee Titans and then bypassed Redskins Park temporarily for FedExField on Monday night for a primetime affair against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Did I leave anything out? Oh that’s right they also had 27 practices, too.

Anyway, after enduring his fourth training camp as the man in charge, head coach Mike Shanahan had a lot to say after the first practice in Ashburn in months.

Let’s start with video of his usual post practice presser.

After throwing some extra passes to end the first practice back in Ashburn since training camp, quarterback Robert Griffin III stepped to the podium to chat with a horde of local and national media.

No. 10, looking to slash the perceived sophomore slump with his always phenomenal play, dedicated his presser to his offensive line.

With that said, here’s all that the second-year pro had to say this afternoon starting with how his knee is feeling:

No Starburst Shortage For Chris Thompson

I’ve got a juicy update to the Chris Thompson-Starburst love story. It’s mutual.

During training camp in Richmond, the rookie running back told Monumental Today that he keep Starburst in his socks on game days. Yes the flavorful, cuboid little candies that everyone wants to ask for the second you open up a pack.

As he and the rest of the team trickled back into team headquarters yesterday to get a light workout in and start preparations for Saturday’s annual preseason matchup against the Bills, Thompson had a surprise treat waiting at his locker.

“I didn’t say anything to Starburst beforehand but they did obviously, get ahold of my story. I actually didn’t see them here at first, they brought them for me.”

Redskins Uniforms Ranking Revealed

Another year, another snubbing in the uniform catergory.

While the Washington Redskins uniforms have remained untouched over the last three decades (putting throwback uniforms and burgundy on burgundy to the side) their classic burgundy and gold uniforms aren’t exactly at the top of the NFL uniform hierarchy on Uni Watch.

Dissapointing.

Being a uniform aficionado myself, I must admit that I gander on over to uni watch from time to time to see what going on in the sports fashion world and what I found this morning wasn’t too pretty on the eyes (and no I’m not talking about what we witnessed on Week 8 last season).

So where do the Redskins’ getups rank out of the 32 NFL franchises?

Brian Orakpo Re-Emerges On Top 20

While he may not be receiving much attention at the moment, Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo is still one of the best in the league at his position.

Entering an all-important fifth season here in our Nation’s Capital, Orakpo’s looking to rebound from a disappointing 2012 campaign derailed by a season-ending injury suffered in the second week of the season.

As ESPN’s NFC East blogger Dan Graziano counts down the top 20 players in the division, Orakpo is the first Redskin to appear on the list.
