The annual Madden holiday is nearly upon us. Will you be getting the game?

I must say on a personal note that I am really stoked for this year’s version. I’ve grown up my whole life spending countless hours each year building the perfect dynasty and making it impossible for anyone to stop me on 4th and 1 (hint: use quarterback draw—it works every time). Also, I miss the old training camp drills from the Madden 04 and 05 days. Just sayin’.

Anyway, it’s always nice to know what you’re getting into before you remove the shrink wrap. As is the case in real life, debates will rage for the next few months at how players were originally ranked on Madden. I’m not afraid to say I think this offense will easily make the Redskins the most played team on the game. The read-option should be really enjoyable to use, we all know the impact mobile quarterbacks have in the series and the wideouts offer up enough variety that your opponent will have to switch out of their basic Cover 2 package.

Anyway, here is the overall rating for each Redskin on the offensive side of the pigskin with eight days until the game hits stores:

C Will Montgomery: 90

C Nick Sundberg: 57

C Kevin Matthews: 66

FB Eric Kettani: 70

FB Darrel Young: 89

HB Alfred Morris: 89

HB Chris Thompson: 66

HB Jawan Jamison: 66

HB Keiland Williams: 68

HB Roy Helu Jr.: 74

HB Evan Royser: 74

K Kai Forbath: 81

OL Maurice Hurt: 69

OL Kory Lichtensteiger: 80

OL Tom Compton: 63

OL Xavier Nixon: 64

OL Trent Williams: 89

OL Chris Chester: 88

OL Adam Gettis: 65

OL Josh LeRibeus: 69

OL Tyler Polumbus: 74

OL Tony Pashos: 74

OL Jeremy Trueblood: 73

TE Jordan Reed: 69

TE Logan Paulsen: 75

TE Fred Davis: 86

TE Niles Paul: 70

QB Pat White: 65

QB Rex Grossman: 72

QB Robert Griffin III: 89

QB Kirk Cousins: 75

WR Pierre Garcon: 87

WR Josh Morgan: 79

WR Aldrick Robinson: 69

WR Leonard Hankerson: 73

WR Dezmon Briscoe: 68

WR Santana Moss: 81

Whatcha think?

Two things stood out to me when I first saw the ratings. First, Kirk Cousins being rated at 75 overall is a little—let’s say ridiculous. And that’s putting it nicely. This time last year he was rated 72. You mean to tell me that a guy who crushed a Super Bowl bound defense and soudly defeated the Browns in his first career start only got three points better?

Moving on.

Second—why is Will Montgomery the only player rated 90 or higher? Darrel Young, Robert Griffin III, Trent Williams and Alfred Morris are all rated 89. Why not 90? On a positive note however, that should make the ground game for this team that good.

Lastly, Robert Griffin III’s speed is 92. Kai Forbath’s is 65. I know you’ve been dying to know both.

OMG seriously there you the madden team has stomped on the skins forever those ratings r so off its nit even funny RG3 andMorris 89 really come on but again im not surpised if u look at the demo for madden 25 u will see the Ravens overall 87 and the 49ers overall 91 , did Bal. just win the super bowl and the seahawks overall is a 90 where green bay is oversll 88 , who was smokin

See the problem is that Donny is a cowboys fan and that says it all lol. The skins are better then the raven hence we beat them with a 75 rated qb lol n why is Morris not over 90 in speed? If Matt forte can be a92 Morris should be also. Then rg3 should be in the 90s with his play action like 97 n his awareness needs to be 89 .if we lead the LG in rushing then let’ hope they gave them that proper ratings for that lol. But I’m sure the cowboys ratings are those of SF and sea Smh we shall see

Plus let’s not forget the skins offense was like 4 Th in scoring and that’s without Davis garcon helu. The skins could move the ball against any team passing or running if rg3 didn’t get hurt in the sea game we win who knows how far they go.so Donny do the right thing n give the proper ratings deserved for every team not Jus the skins. It will make for a better game this Season less SF or sea users lol
