Practices Happenings From Day Five

We are  getting into the meat of training camp here in Richmond, as the guys have really started to show game level like intensity in seven-on-seven and 11-on-11 drills.

Their ferocity has really made up for the cooler than average temperatures, not that anyone is complaining. Can training camp always be like this, please?

Training Camp Video: Wide Receivers

Any drills that involve back of the end zone, gravity defying touchdown grabs always get the crowd’s blood pumping.

Yesterday, quarterback Robert Griffin III praised wide receiver Aldrick Robinson’s play so far during training camp.

He and Santana Moss are the two smallest receivers on the team, but use their athleticism to get the best of opposing secondaries.

The two also kicked off this segment of individual drills.

Just because the Washington Redskins had the top rated rushing attack from a year ago, doesn’t mean they are going to loosen up the reins on practice intensity.

Everybody wants to know what quarterback Robert Griffin III thinks.

We want to know what he thinks about his knee rehab, his practice plan, the offense, everything.

But what about Kirk Cousins? Have you ever wondered what runs through his brain?After all, he’s authored his own book, and did graduate from Michigan State with 3.68 GPA and a degree in kinesiology.

Morning Walkthrough Wrap-Up Tuesday 7/30

The first thing that Mike Shanahan asked in his initial press conference at training camp was “Who’s responsible for the weather?”

Six days later, whoever that person is should get a raise, because the temperatures have held steady under ninety degrees with low humidity. No one appreciates that more than the players.

As the usual morning walkthrough got underway, the players donned their bucket hats and baseball caps, and they seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves as they ran through drills on this beautiful Tuesday morning. Read more »

Quick Byte From Redskins Training Camp

For all the fans down here in Richmond, Va. we have a special treat for you!

At the Science Museum of Virginia, directly behind the Bon Secours Training Center, the Washington Redskins’ three Lombardi Trophies were unveiled this morning.

Normally at Redskins Park, the three hard fought trophies will be at the museum until the last day of training camp on August 16th.

Redskins.com’s Brian Tinsman and I caught up Chief Wonder Officer Rich Conti to tell us a little bit about being the temporary home of the trophies.
