As if yesterday wasn’t full of enough news, the Washington Redskins announced the signing of defensive backs Jose Gumbs and Ryan Mouton.

Gumbs, a second-year professional who split time between the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs, and Mouton, who appeared in 13 games with the Tennessee Titans last season, are two more highly athletic ball hawks.

While Gumbs has yet to take a snap at the professional level, he’s only a few months removed from an amazing career at Monmouth University.

Check out this highlight video from his collegiate days—I guarantee you’ll be even more hyped up about him coming here after seeing it.

He honestly might have touched the pigskin more than half of his Monmouth teammates who play offense.

While the competition in the secondary is one of the biggest storylines of 2013 training camp, he could find himself worthy of a roster spot alone just by his knack for blocking kicks.

It’s the type of play that can instantly swing momentum in a game.

Also, just for you uniform geeks out there, despite wearing No. 28 in college he’ll be No. 48 for the Redskins. Although we wouldn’t mind seeing him play like a former No. 28 that we’re all so familiar with.

Mouton, who was originally drafted in the third round of the 2009 draft, has started four games in the NFL. He’ll don No. 29 from here on out.
