A few weeks back The Redskins Blog had a piece on Nick Sundberg’s trip across Europe filled with famous monuments and pictures of the long snapper trying out some customary traditions on the other side of the pond.
Sundberg is known for his incredible strength and willingness to do whatever it takes to help his team win. His Herculean courage was on full display when he shook of a broken arm (a necessary body part of long snapping) in the team’s 40-32 Week 1 victory over the New Orleans Saints.
That takes an unprecedented level of passion that only a competitor like Sundberg possess– and a no days off mentality.
Check out this photo gallery of Sundberg, with pigskin in hand, showing Europe the art of long-snapping.
Now Londoners are no strangers to American (as they would say) football over the last few years with the NFL’s International series coming to Wembley Stadium half a dozen times, but for those who call Barcelona, Paris and Rome home, they might have been taken a little off guard by Sundberg’s perfect long snapping stance.
Who better to teach them the game though, than the always friendly California product?
Just going through his Twitter account (@NickSundberg), it’s easy to sum up his vacation as one amazing experience, but with training camp only seven days away it was time for him to head back home—to this ridiculous heat wave.
Stay cool Redskins fans. We can’t wait to see you next week in, hopefully, cooler Richmond.
