Redskins Social Media Weekly Spotlight

Posted by Jared Ross on July 15, 2013 – 6:00 pm

We are in the final few days of the football news “dry spell” as several teams are kicking off their training camps later this week. Your 2012 NFC East division champion Washington Redskins, start camp next Thursday!

If you missed last week’s Social Media Spotlight, you can read about quarterback Robert Griffin III’s wedding, quarterback Kirk Cousin’s wardrobe malfunction, Kory Lichtensteiger’s golf outing and more.

In an attempt to make the few days left before training camp pass by as quickly as possible, I present to you this week’s Social Media Weekly Spotlight.

Players are currently enjoying their last days of vacation before the rigors of training camp, preseason and most importantly of course, the regular season. In this edition, we cover fullback Eric Kettani‘s artistic ability, a throwback photo from last season’s week 13 victory against the New York Giants (#HTTR), defensive lineman Adam Carriker’s workout war paint, football camp with quarterback Kirk Cousins, and a little bit of swag from the big man himself, defensive lineman Chris “Swaggy” Baker.

This week, Eric Kettani shared one of his “#KettaniOriginals” on Twitter. The artwork was given to Garth Brooks for what Kettani said was “Just a little thank you to Garth Brooks for all he does with @teammates4kids!” This wasn’t the fullback’s first #KettaniOriginal, and if you would like to see more, you can search #KettaniOriginals on twitter to see a few of his other creations.

It has been too long since we have had a tweet showing off an NFL game (don’t worry we are that much closer to Week 1). Tight end Niles Paul released a photo of him, fellow Nebraska and now Redskin teammate DeJon Gomes and cornerback Prince Amukamara of the Giants. After a closely contested game against the Giants, it is pretty easy to tell which team came out with the win in this divisional matchup.

Adam Carriker, in his usual style, rocked WWE facepaint for one of his workouts this week. His goal? To look like WWE star Sting (old style facepaint). How do you think he compares?

Thankfully, the defensive lineman provided us with a before and after photo of his Sting-themed workout. From the paint, or lack thereof, left on his face, it looks as if he is determined to return strong after an injury-shortened 2012 campaign.

This weekend, Kirk Cousins hosted his own football camp back in his home state of Michigan. Those in attendance got the opportunity to learn the game from the NFL’s top backup.

Chris “Swaggy” Baker recently let everyone get a glimpse of his ‘swag’ on Instagram. The defensive lineman gives his singing talents a try in this video, where he covers P. Diddy’s song: ‘What You Want’.

Sing with me tell me what you want from me take a look at what u see
