LM: How good was the work you got in during the off-season?
KC: Oh, it was a tremendous off-season, I really felt like the winter months when I was training on my own was very productive and then also getting back to Washington D.C. for OTA’s and mini-camp was also very productive it was great getting as many reps as I did, and I feel like I became a much better quarterback over the last couple of months during the OTA and mini-camp sessions.
LM: What lesson from the book can you take away as you go to training camp, because a lot of folks know the position you’re in and you performed very well last year when you got on the football field, and there’s a lot of speculation about how this is going to unfold, going back to your book what do you refer to when you look ahead to training camp this year?
KC: Well I think in my book I talk a lot about how things are uncertain, just like all of our futures are uncertain, we all have dreams we all have goals that we’re working towards and a lot of times things are not going to unfold right away and we have to be able to be patient, just keep working and have some delayed gratification where, to trust as long as we keep working, put the time in and develop ourselves do all that we can be a selfless teammate, we can trust that things are going to happen down the road so, I’m staying patient and excited about the opportunity I have moving forward in year two for me with the Redskins.
LM: You’re super smart everyone has seen you perform on the field, but how about this football team? How much better can the Redskins be in 2013?
KC: Well I think the sky’s the limit Larry, when you look at how much success we had last year with a rookie quarterback, a rookie running back, several new free agents that were still learning the way with the offense and with the team. I think we can have high expectations. Now I know the fan base is very excited to have these players all back with more experience next year, and the NFL as we all know is no joke, every single Sunday you have to bring it, but there’s certainly high expectations both inside and outside the football building and we just have to keep working, stay humble, stay hungry, and in doing that I think we can expect a lot from this team in 2013.
