Redskins Social Media Weekly Spotlight

This week’s Social Media Spotlight is presented by social media intern Jared Ross.

It has been one week since the players packed up their gear and headed home for a few weeks of relaxation and rest with their families before the start of training camp in July. For more information on the team’s first training camp in the heart of Virginia’s Capital, click here.

If you missed last week’s Social Media Spotlight, you squandered the opportunity read about wide receiver Pierre Garcon’s donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, a childhood memory from quarterback Robert Griffin III, Eric Kettani’s transition into active duty, and more.
In this week’s installment, we followed the players home on their first week after offseason activities to see how they will be spending their time away before defending their NFC East title. What we found was wide receiver Josh Morgan and his exercise buddy, safety Reed Doughty’s hiking adventures, a childhood photo of nose tackle Chris Baker, a photo of defensive end Adam Carriker and his “at-home” teammates and quarterback Kirk Cousins’ interesting interaction with a flight attendant.

While players do not have official team workouts during the next few weeks, it does not mean that they neglect their training regimens. In this Instagram photo, Josh Morgan shows off his new exercise partner, Dream. From the looks of this photo, Dream might have some catching up to do to the team’s leader in receptions in 2012.

In previous Social Media Spotlights, we have discovered that Reed Doughty is quite the outdoorsman. From fly fishing  to hiking, he’ll do just about anything as long as he can be outside with Mother Nature. During his time off from team activities he posted this photo of him hiking in the Rocky Mountains with his children.

Me and my boys enjoying the Rocky Mountain air. We went on a couple family hikes. They've done awesome.

Throwback Thursday (#TBT) is becoming a staple in our spotlight series and this week Chris Baker carried on the tradition of looking into the past with this photo from his childhood. We have to say, the bowtie is very ‘swaggy’ to say the least.

#tbt lol

In his time off, Adam Carriker has been spending some time with his family. Earlier in the week, Adam tweeted out this Carrkier family photo.

Kirk Cousins ventured to New York City this week as part of his summer activities away from Redskins Park. Kirk tweeted about this interaction with his flight attendant. Thankfully, the pilot knew where they were headed so the nickname, Captain Kirk, could remain just a nickname.
