This week’s Social Media Spotlight is presented by social media intern Jared Ross.
We check in this week from a very quiet Redskins Park. The players and coaches have finished up mandatory minicamp and have headed home until the start of training camp.
In last week’s Social Media Spotlight, we discussed tight end Niles Paul’s new facial hair, linebacker Will Compton’s throwback to 2006, a motivational message from running back Chris Thompson, and more. If you missed it, feel free to go back and read it here (link).
While the players have scattered to their own destinations for the next six weeks, this week’s Social Media Spotlight will bring the guys back together again even if it’s through your computer screen.
Included in this week’s edition is defensive lineman Chris Baker’s funny photo compilation of his teammates, wide receiver Pierre Garcon’s donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, fullback Eric Kettani’s move into active duty, quarterback Robert Griffin III’s #TBT (Throwback Thursday) picture, and offensive lineman Adam Gettis’ new interest.
Chris Baker, or as he likes to call himself ‘Swaggy’, is known to be quite the jokester. Last week Chris went around taking photos of his teammates sleeping and posted them via his Instagram account.
Two weeks ago, Pierre Garcon held an event that benefitted the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington. This week, after totaling the proceeds, Pierre Garcon presented the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington with a giant check worth $30,000!
Now that minicamp is over the majority of players have mapped out beach vacations with their families before the grind of training camp. Eric Kettani, however, has a different plan in mind.
According to fullback’s Twitter account, he plans to serve the next two weeks as a member of active duty for the US Navy.
Thanks to Throwback Thursday, we have found quite a few gems such as last week’s photo of Will Compton showing us just how classy baby blue really is (or isn’t). This week, Robert Griffin III delivered with this photo from his childhood.
Last week Adam Gettis decided to take a sushi rolling class. Hopefully he learned a lot, because a few of his teammates would probably love for him to bring some sushi back with him to training camp.
