Redskins running back Alfred Morris had a historic rookie season, putting up numbers never before seen in the franchise’s 80 year history.

Were it not for fellow rookie Robert Griffin III, Morris would have been the toast of the town and the face of the franchise in Washington.

But don’t expect jealousy from Morris, who was born without a diva bone in his body. All he needs is the respect of his teammates, his coaches, and maybe one of the greatest running backs of all time.

Linebackers To Host Youth Football Camp

Brian Orakpo and Ryan Kerrigan form quite the duo on the outsides of a talent-laden linebacking unit. The two have combined for three Pro Bowl appearances, 45.5 sacks, and countless opponents who fear entering the duo’s territory.

While Redskins Nation is waiting for the moment Orakpo rejoins Kerrigan and the rest of the Burgundy and Gold, the youngest generation of footballers in the DMV will be able to catch a glimpse of the pair and gain unparalleled knowledge from the former first round picks at the Brian Orakpo/Ryan Kerrigan Football Camp this July.

Jamison Pursued NFL Dream For Mother

Yesterday was Mother’s Day and across the nation sons were dedicating the day with breakfast in bed, flowers, typing up sentimental Facebook statuses, and cards that marked their love for the women that brought them into the world or raised them.

Rookie running back Jawan Jamison was one of those proud baby boys who woke up early to celebrate his mother’s love and affection. While the former Rutgers star could have gotten his mom the typical box of chocolates and bouquet of flowers, he gave her something that will last her a tad bit longer.

An NFL contract.

Rookie mini-camp is now two weekends in the past (man, time is flying) and last week’s spotlight in part covered the rookies’ first weekend at the Park, including some intriguing storylines to come out of Ashburn with stud running back Alfred Morris’ little brother, Shawn Morris, earning a tryout with the team.

Thursday, May 9 marked four months until the Redskins 2013 season opener on Monday Night Football vs. Philadelphia. If that doesn’t get you excited then we may need to reconsider your fandom. Yes, we understand that it’s still a long time before the players take the field, but we also know that we are flying through this offseason and steamrolling toward Redskins Training Camp in Richmond
