It’s not happening.
With yesterday’s announcement that Detroit Lions legend Barry Sanders is the cover athlete for Madden 25, Redskins Nation and Robert Griffin III fans can officially breathe a sigh of relief.
The Madden Curse, which is indeed a real thing Redskins fans, will not be coming to the Nation’s Capital and it will not be hanging over the head of No. 10.
Let’s face it, the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year would be a prime candidate for a video game cover. He was on the cover of NCAA Football 13 with Sanders, has what some would describe as “video game speed”, and will no doubt be a fan favorite for gamers to use.
But the cover of Madden?
No thank you.
While Griffin III isn’t showcased on the cover this go around, it doesn’t mean that he won’t be the star of the show.
Check out this trailer of Griffin III in the first look of Madden 25:
Sorry Green Bay, you can’t stop a virtual Griffin III.
Will they be able to stop a real life No. 10? We’ll find out Week 2.
Also, what’s up with the burgundy pants? Last I checked the Redskins sported snazzy gold pants for a majority of the 2012 season.
Anyways, I’m glad to see that Griffin III is being spotlighted in the game but not the cover. You can stay away Madden Curse.
Far, far away.
