[Note-This post does not indicate any plans for the draft. It is merely a more in-depth look at a prospect that has been floated around the No. 51 pick in mock drafts.]

With the NFL Draft just over 48 hours away, teams are putting the finishing touches on their draft boards of the prospects they are narrowing their sites on.

Currently, the Redskins still do not posses a first round draft pick. Washington’s first round pick  (22nd overall) pick is now in the hands of the St. Louis Rams after last year’s trade that landed AP Offensive Rookie of Year Robert Griffin III.

This week, I will be profiling a handful of prospects that could be joining the Burgundy and Gold this weekend.

So without further adieu I present to you the first draft prospect: Mississippi State safety Darius Slay.

A Closer Look At Chris Cooley The ‘Potter’

Posted by Chris Herting on April 23, 2013 – 2:11 pm

In continuing our trend of checking in to see how Redskins players, past and present, are spending their offseason, we’re going to take a look at free agent tight end Chris Cooley.

Cooley has been a staple of the Redskins organization for just over nine years. He is the Redskins’ all-time leader for receptions by a tight end (428), a fan-favorite among many crowds, a leader in the locker room, a spokesperson in the fight against breast cancer, and an experienced potter. He’s an all-around good football player and good leader; the kind of guy you would want your daughter to date.

Theismann’s Busy Weekend In South Bend

Long before current Redskins quarterbacks Robert Griffin III, Kirk Cousins, Rex Grossman, and Pat White had stellar collegiate careers,  Joe Theismann constructed one of the greatest college football resumes to date.

Theismann was the man in charge at Notre Dame right smack dab in the middle of the school’s legendary run through the NCAA during the 6o’s and 70’s.

No. 7 complied an impressive 20-3-2 record as a starter and proved his worth in being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

However, Thesimann’s career might not have ever reached the NFL or starting quarterback status in South Bend is if wasn’t for then-Notre Dame head coach Ara Parseghian.

Theismann and some of his Golden Domer teammates rejoined for a reunion of sorts to celebrate Parseghian’s 90th birthday.

Morris, Griffin III Never Hit A Rookie Wall

Last year when Robert Griffin III took the field you would have thought that he was a season veteran with years of experience in the NFL, not someone who had  been at the podium with Roger Goodell at the draft just months earlier .

Along with his backfield partner Alfred Morris, the duo lead the league in rushing yards. Whether it was Morris running straight up the middle or a constructed a read-option keeper for No. 10, the two combined for over 2,400 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Griffin III sat down with Larry Michael once again on the set of Redskins Nation for the sixth edition of “10 Days With No. 10” to touch on his thoughts about his fellow 2012 NFL Draft colleague , on neither hitting a rookie wall late in the season and about being a leader and captain of a division-winning team.

Also, he explains what when down during Josh Morgan’s touchdown play in the Monday Night Football game against the New York Giants.

Was it a fumble or a designed toss?
