Redskins guard Chris Chester says he’s extremely grateful for the men in his life that played an important role in helping him become the person and player he is today. One man he credits a lot of his success to and has a huge amount of respect for, is his former Tustin High School football coach Myron Miller.
“He’s family to me, he’s a coach, a friend, a mentor, just a tremendous man,” Chester said.
Chester was excited to announce that Miller, the man who impacted his life and the lives of many young athletes has a book that’s been published about him. It’s called For Underdogs Only written by Kim Robinson.
“It shows the impact he’s had on so many people that somene wrote his story and wants to share it with the world,” Chester said.
For Underdogs Only is a true story about Miller, on the adversity he faced throughout his life and the way he incorporated it in his coaching techniques. According to Chester, Miller was the type of coach who could reach out and inspire anyone.
The book features some of Chester’s experiences of having Miller as a head coach, the ways he helped shape him in to a man and develop him in to a football player.
“It’s a great story about someone giving back, helping the community, teaching what hard work is and developing character,” Chester said.
