Redskins guard Chris Chester says he’s extremely grateful for the men in his life that played an important role in helping him become the person and player he is today. One man he credits a lot of his success to and has a huge amount of respect for, is his former Tustin High School football coach Myron Miller.

Today, Major League Baseball will honor the great Jackie Robinson with the annual Jackie Robinson Day in his honor. Players across the league will temporarily ditch their traditional numbers and instead all wear No. 42 for the day.

2011 featured perhaps the best sports year in the Waco school’s history as Griner’s fellow Bear, Robert Griffin III, won the school’s first Heisman Trophy as No. 10 had nearly 5,000 combined yards and 47 touchdowns.

While the two have remained friends even after Griffin III was taken with the second pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Griner has challenged him to a dunking contest.

Can No. 10 take down the great dunker in women’s basketball history?

Beginning at 8am this morning, players were in the facility working out as part of the strength and conditioning portion of workouts which will last all week long. We combed Twitter to get the players reactions and there appears to be a grand sense of excitement to return and begin building off of last year’s NFC East Championship run.

But before we dive into this week’s spotlight, let’s quickly recap last week which tapped into DE Adam Carriker’s WrestleMania predictions, DE Stephen Bowen’s great bowling event for charity, and WR Pierre Garçon and QB Kirk Cousins’ shout-outs to their Mom’s. You can read it in its entirety here.
