Griffin III’s Loss May Actually Be A Win

Posted by Stephen Czarda on April 11, 2013 – 4:52 pm

Robert Griffin III

Quarterback Robert Griffin III achieved an incredible amount in his first year with the Washington Redskins.

He led the team to its first NFC East title since 1999, was named AP Offensive Rookie of the Year over some of the best playmakers to debut in the league in years, and broke the NFL record for most jerseys sold in a single year.

Griffin III is a winner, we know that much and while No. 10 would never want to come up on the losing end of anything, after not being voted into the Madden 25 cover vote Final Four its safe to say he might be okay with being booted out.

Now that the Burgundy and Gold’s captain has steer cleared of an assignment on the dubious cover, find out just how “bad” the Madden Curse has been through the years.

They Are Who We Thought They Were?

Posted by Stephen Czarda on April 11, 2013 – 1:55 pm

Kirk Cousins

Kirk Cousins has been a busy man this week. First, he went back to East Lansing recently to call the X’s and O’s for his alma mater’s spring game. Now, he has been all over ESPN where he talked to NFL Live and did a sit down chat with ESPN Radio’s Mike and Mike in the Morning.

With Cousins’s media stock quickly rising, the former Spartan great has been asked to be a guest speaker at a local event and unfortunately for No. 12, the event organizers may have forgotten Cousin’s 329 yards and two touchdown performance against the Cleveland Browns in Week 15 from behind center.

So, can Cousins compete for the Burgundy and Gold’s starting kicker spot against record-setter Kai Forbath?

Highly doubtful, but Cousins isn’t the only member of the Redskins squad that has had an “identity theft” of sorts.

Skyler’s Gift NFL & Friends Bowl-A-Thon

Posted by Chris Herting on April 11, 2013 – 11:47 am

Bowl-With-Bowen-660x350_4

The Skyler’s Gift Foundation officially launched on Nov. 17, 2012 with the overarching mission to provide financial support to families in need that have lost their newborn infants from complications of premature birth.

Unfortunately, the cause is something that Redskins DE Stephen Bowen knows all too familiar. Read more about how Bowen channels tragedy to help others.

Fortunate for us and Redskins fans everywhere, Bowen has decided to turn a negative into a positive and fight for something he feels strongly about.

That is why he wants YOU, Redskins fans, to help spread the word about his event on May 4th and why he’s given us a two pairs of tickets, four tickets in total, to give away to a few lucky fans.

Bowen himself will select one winner who retweets his message to receive a pair of tickets via his Twitter account (@stevebo72) on Monday, April 15th. A second winner who shares the ‘Bowl With Bowen’ graphic on Facebook will be selected and announced via the Redskins Facebook Page on Friday, April 19th.

Not only will you be supporting a great event by helping spread the word, but you could win the opportunity for you and a friend to bowl with Bowen, plus other great NFL Players. The players have already started to rally around the cause as the excitement for the event builds.

We sense some inter-squad, as well as some friendly, rivalries beginning to develop between players around the league. Here’s what some of the players have been saying and don’t be shy Redskins fans, we encourage you to join in on the Twitter talk!
