Snyder, Shanahan Scout NBA In Phoenix
Posted by on March 20, 2013 – 4:29 pm‘Tis the season for talent evaluation, and the Redskins brass is working overtime at the annual NFL owners’ meetings in Phoenix.
Redskins owner Daniel M. Snyder and head coach Mike Shanahan sat courtside at the Suns-Lakers game Monday night. Sadly, it wasn’t much of a game, as the Suns destroyed the hapless and Kobe-less Lakers 99-76, but the view was pretty good.
Several Suns fans snapped photos of Snyder and Shanahan and posted on Instagram:

Although it may seem like playtime on a business trip, it’s not a stretch to say the two sports are related, and crossover players have become stars in the NFL. Take for example the tight end position, which has been revolutionized in the last 15 years by basketball castoffs Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates and Jimmy Graham.
The Redskins have even had recent success with basketball converts. Iron Man London Fletcher excelled in both sports during his time at John Carroll University. Retired receiver Antwaan Randle El played in 11 games for the Hoosiers during his time at Indiana. Redskins receiver Joshua Morgan was a major basketball recruit before choosing to play football at Virginia Tech.
In related news, today was Baylor’s 2013 Pro Day, and came without quite as much pomp and circumstance as the 2012 edition.
Last year, Shanahan and Snyder stood side-by-side with the star of the show, imagining the prospects of putting him in burgundy and gold.

Wish granted, and a year later we see the two on the lookout again.
Now I’m not suggesting that Michael Beasley, Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash or Dwight Howard are auditioning for the No. 51 overall pick. But hopefully an enjoyable night out in Pheonix will help break up the hard work of the offseason.

I think the Redskins should take a chance on Tyrann Mathieu he has the heart of a lion and plays 100% every play he’s aggressive and he is also a human highlight in the return game. doesnt seem like much of a risk to me especially since he was in the running for the heisman trophy that Robert eventually won. please take a close look. Lifelong diehard Redskins season ticket holder….

Davidcarlos7 and buckshots_HI I couldn’t agree with you more! The honey badger will bring his explosiveness and heart to the nfl and the Redskins need to capitalize and snatch him up. Veterans on our team will help him keep his off field issues in check. Please put the Honey Badger in burgundy and gold.
