The Director of the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders, Stephanie Jojokian, announced that before practice she had a special announcement to make. As the first ladies of football, stretched, and warmed up, they were filled with excitement and anticipation.
Jojokian took the stage in the dance studio, and named Brianne, Monique, and Susan, as the new captains of Washington Redskins Cheerleaders. The ladies will join returning Captain Ashley. After getting honored with the title of Captain, they were given a huge group hug, flowers, and cards.

Brianne, is from Huntingtown, Maryland and has always loved the Redskins. She grew up attending Redskins games, her mother was the ticket manager at RFK stadium. Brianne went to Super Bowl XXVI. She says she couldn’t be more, “shocked, honored, and excited” to be one of the newest captains. She knows it’s a big leadership role, and is really looking forward to this season.
Monique, is a Washington D.C. native, and is Miss DC. She remembers sitting in the stands as a little girl saying to herself that she could dance like the cheerleaders and one day wanted to be one. This is her fourth year with the Redskins Organization. Last year she was one of the Co-Captains. She knows this is a big responsiblity and her moto is, “team first!”
Susan, is originally from Pittsburgh. This is her second season with the Redskins Cheerleaders, and last year she was a Co-Captain. Taking on her new role as a captain, she has very high expectations, and is looking forward to working on the choreography. She says, “I want to be a role model, a mentor and uphold the WRC reputation.” And Redskins fans, she believes this is the season she will cheer on the Skins in the Super Bowl!
Every game this season be sure to look for Brianne, Monique, and Susan on the field. They will be leading the team and fans, as you cheer on the Redskins!
