Should Aldrick Robinson Be on DWTS?

Posted by Stephen Czarda on February 28, 2013 – 10:51 am

Aldrick Robinson

Sunday night, the Oscars took center stage as the entertainment community gathered to honor some of the best entertainment performances on the big screen this past year.

During a commercial break, a different form of grandeur was being advertised for this spring. Dancing!

That’s right, Dancing with the Stars is returning this March and Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones will take to the dance floor after catching America’s attention with several eye popping dance numbers at the Super Bowl.

While Jones has created the reputation for strutting his stuff in end zone across the league, we believe that the Redskins-own Aldrick Robinson could challenge Jones’s spot as the best dancer.

Find out why we make a case for Robinson after his epic shimmy  in the confines of Cowboys Stadium on Thanksgiving Day:

Robinson had one of the best touchdowns-per-touch ratios on the Redskins last season as he has 11 receptions, three of which resulted in six-point plays.

On his touchdowns against the New Orleans Saints and Philadelphia Eagles, Robinson decided to go the more traditional celebration route of a simple leap into the arms of his teammates and a salute to Redskins Nation! However, he tried to shake things up a bit, literally, on Thanksgiving Day.

Want to talk about the best performance on the big screen last year?

How about Aldrick Robinson’s 68-yard gambol to paydirt, torching the Cowboys secondary under the world’s largest screen!

Let’s judge the two explosive receivers waltzes.

First up, Robinson vs. the Cowboys:

On first look, I think its safe to say that this is an original  routine as I have yet to see anyone come close to doing this jig. Maybe he was trying to work off the turkey he ate that morning.

The 90,000 in attendance, however, got a first-hand glimpse of number 11’s flurry of unforgettable gyrations.

He left no body part motionless as his head down to his toes got in on the action. Personally, I enjoy the head roll the most.

I wonder what would have happened if this had become the next Internet sensation instead of the Harlem Shake?

Off of pure style points and creativity, I’d give him a 10 out of 10!

He capped off his number with a curtain call salute to the Arlington, Texas congregation as they had probably wished that the tryptophan kicked in a few hours earlier after the Redskins 38-31 victory.

Now, lets match Robinson’s routine with Jones’s after his 56-yard gallop in Super Bowl XLVII.

While Jones shows off some impressive hip swings, his head is left out of the action leaving me no choice but to say that Robinson’s  boogie takes home the prize of best maneuvers.

You be the judge, who do you think is more suited to be on Dancing With the Stars?

Good luck to Jacoby as he hopes to join Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward, and Donald Driver as NFLers who have claimed the title as best celebrity dancer in the country!
