VOTE: Best TD Celebration of 2012

Posted by Chris Herting on January 28, 2013 – 5:29 pm

The results are in for best individual performance of 2012 and YOU voted QB Robert Griffin III’s four touchdown game vs. Dallas on Thanksgiving Day.

Next up: ‘Best Touchdown Celebration of 2012’. The following are choices that, due to popular demand, we deemed as some of the most memorable, recognizable, and trend-setting touchdown celebrations of 2012. So without further ado we have:

Griffining” by QB Robert Griffin III

Spin the Ball, Strike a Pose” by WR Pierre Garçon

Spike that Ball!” by QB Kirk Cousins

Landover Leap” by LB Ryan Kerrigan

Home Run” by RB Alfred Morris

Landover Leap: Part 2” by QB Robert Griffin III

Of course,“Griffining” may be the obvious choice right out of the gate since it became a phenomenon from Day 1 of number 10’s career. And are the endearing qualities of “Griffining” elevated with the imagery of Griffin III as he lay on the turf, arms outstretched, at the site of this year’s Super Bowl? Okay, that’s a stretch but pretty cool to say the least.

Then there’s Alfred Morris’s “Home Run” tribute to Little Leaguers from York and Lee counties as the sixth round rookie rushed into the hearts of Redskins Nation on his way to becoming a household name.

Anyway, those are just two of the great celebrations over the course of the 2012 season. So be sure to vote for your favorite Touchdown Celebration of 2012 at www.facebook.com/redskins

Now of course these polls don’t count for anything of significance but since any meaningful football will not be played for another well…just over seven months, let’s have some fun with these. We’ll try to roll out a new poll each week, some of which are fun and some of which are more of the serious football-related variety.

Anyway, if there is a topic YOU want to debate or a question we should consider please leave a comment below and it could be next week’s Redskins poll question.
