For Kettani, There’s No Place Like Home

Over the course of the average person’s life, his relationship with his parents is likely to change.

Infants and young children are solely dependent on their parents to survive. The adolescent years can be trouble, as the unstoppable force of teenage angst runs headlong into the immovable object of parental tyranny.

Eventually (with any luck), parents accept their offspring as adult members of society, and the adolescents make the transition into functioning members of society. But that’s not to say that they won’t always be welcomed as children in their parents house.

Eric Kettani spent the season on the Redskins’ practice squad and just inked a deal to remain with the organization through the offseason. He was signed to a reserves/futures contract along with Chingbo Anunoby, Dominique Hamilton, Korey Lindsey, Phillip Merling, and Deangelo Peterson on January 8th.

As you can see from his tweet (Twitter handle @EricKettani), Kettani’s mother keeps his bed ready for him, even when he’s off chasing his NFL dreams. I wonder if she appreciates having his practice gear back in the house? Or his appetite back in the kitchen?

For the record, Kettani does know how to make his own bed, as that is one of the daily requirements for all Midshipmen at the Naval Academy.  But like most chores, it’s always nice when someone else is excited to do them for you.

As the DMV endures another cold, rainy day and even a winter storm watch for the next few days, Kettani is living luxuriously in Florida. Enjoy the sun and the beach, Eric, and we’ll look forward to seeing you back at Redskins Park soon!
