Vote Morris As A ‘Top Value Performer’

Posted by Brian Tinsman on January 15, 2013 – 9:40 am

Redskins running back Alfred Morris came into the 2012 season as a relatively unknown player. While he had success at the Florida Atlantic University, he wasn’t getting the same amount of coverage or attention that other college football such as say Heisman-winning quarterback Robert Griffin III were.

All the unknowns about Alfred quickly changed as he made Redskins history, smashing the franchise’s single season record for yards in a season with 1,613 and helping the team clinch its first division title since 1999.

Morris is now up for the NFL Top Value Performer Award and we need Redskins fans to help vote him in!

As described on the site:

NFL Top Value Performer candidates are evaluated based on their regular season performances and statistics, and the role they played in the success of their teams. These factors are then measured against their base salaries to determine the five finalists.

Just click on the vote button under his name and you will be instantly entered for a chance to win a 60″ LED SmartTv. Who wouldn’t love to watch his next 100-yard rushing performance on a new life-sized TV?

If  Morris wins the award, it would add to his quickly-expanding trophy case.

Over the weekend, Morris was selected to the NFL All-Pro Second Team along with teammate London Fletcher as well as one of six Redskins players selected to the 2012 PFF All-NFC East Team. While Fletcher has had 15 opportunities to make the All-Pro Team, Morris hit a home run in his first appearance.

I wonder if he celebrated with his patented homerun swing after hearing that he was selected? I will guess yes.

The Redskins have had tremendous success with fan votes this season, so keep the good luck rolling for No. 46!

So many superlatives to describe his awesome season…but I have to first praise him for his modest personality and strong values. He came out of nowhere and helped carry us into a divison champioship and a first round playoff. Had we continued running him at the Seattle game , we would still have been in the thick of the later rounds! Oh well, next year we’ll do the same and more thanks to Alfred and his friends.
