Redskins-Cowboys Scores High Ratings
Posted by on December 31, 2012 – 11:56 amIf you were anywhere near a TV or a computer in the past few days, there’s a good chance you heard “Redskins” and “Cowboys” dozens and dozens of times.
After days of hype, the two teams and rivals met on national TV last night for NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” in a game that was turned out to be the NFC East championship. The winner moves on to host a playoff game; the loser goes home.
In case you forgot, the Redskins won 28-18 and will play host to the Seattle Seahawks Sunday at in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs.
Not surprisingly, the game performed very, very well ratings-wise, according to NBC Sports. Here’s some of their tweets from this morning:
Last night's @Redskins @DallasCowboys gm on @SNFonNBC drew 18.3 overnight rating, 30 share, best ever for a primetime reg-season gm on NBC.—

It is also best primetime reg-season overnight rating on ANY network in 15 years and best for a Cowboys-Redskins primetime game in 19 yrs—

Washington D.C. drew 44.6 overnight and 68 share, best primetime reg-season rating for DC market in Nielsen People Meter history (1987)—

Top Mkts: D.C. 44.6/68, Richmond 42.8/60, Norfolk 37.1/53, Dallas 36.9/55, San Antonio 28.4/44, Austin 28.4/48, Albuquerque 27.6/41—

The last time Redskins-Cowboys played in front of such a large audience was Sept. 6, 1993, when the Redskins defeated the defending Super Bowl champion Cowboys 35-16 at RFK Stadium on Monday Night Football.
I’m guessing the Redskins are going to be a primetime attraction come 2013. Stay tuned.

So funny. The author says “I’m guessing the Redskins are going to be a primetime attraction come 2013. Stay tuned.” Don’t you realize whoever plays the Cowboys in a game like this is going to be the best ratings. Cowboys could have been playing the Eagles or Giants and it would have been the same ratings probably even better. The Cowboys are Americas team and that’s why the high ratings. If the Cowboys weren’t decimated by injuries. They would have easily one this game. I hope you enjoyed the win Redskin fans it will be your last this season. Watch for the ratings next week. I bet you won’t even be the highest rating of the day. One last thing with the way RGIII plays he won’t be playing too much longer can you say Vick or worse yet Vince Young.

Washington defense is just as banged up or worse then Dallass. Look at the numbers, Texas didnt even hardly support there own team with the low ratings in that area. redskins always has been America’s team and that metor shower was the Dallass star crashing to earth in DC Sunday night.
