The NFL announced today that Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III led all league rookies and finished sixth overall in 2013 Pro Bowl fan voting.

Griffin III — who had 683,943 fan votes — only finished behind the Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers (777,827 votes) at the quarterback position in the NFC.

Fan voting — which ended Monday — is only one-third of the process of determining the AFC and NFC Pro Bowl teams. The league’s coaches and players cast their votes today and tomorrow, and the announcement of the 2013 Pro Bowl teams, including starters, will be made Wednesday, Dec. 26, in prime time (7 p.m. ET) on NFL Network’s “NFL Total Access Pro Bowl Selection Show.”

When asked yesterday about his league-wide popularity — ESPN.com’s Darren Rovell reported earlier this week that Griffin III had the top-selling NFL jersey ever in a single season — the quarterback said it’s “a tribute to the fans.”

“Hard work pays off,” Griffin III said. “This NFL experience thus far has been really great. I hope it can continue to be that way. Thank you to the fans.”

As of last week, several other Redskins players were among the top fan Pro Bowl vote-getters at their respective positions in the NFC: Alfred Morris was in fifth place among running backs; Darrel Young was in third place among full backs and Lorenzo Alexander was in third place among special teamers.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning (993,045) was the NFL’s leading Pro Bowl fan vote-getter this season. He was followed by: New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (908,099); Houston Texans running back Arian Foster (829,591); Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson (828,225); Rodgers; Griffin III; Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green (676,607); Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (646,273); New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees (578,753) and Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice (564,751).

Call ESPN customer support 18885493776 and complain about Rob Parker only bejng suspended for 30 days. It’s an outrage that he didn’t lose his job after such racist comments directed at a kid that’s trying to do everything right! Hail
