Last Chance To Vote Redskins To Pro Bowl

Posted by Andrew Walker on December 17, 2012 – 1:37 pm

Pro Bowl Redskins

Time is quickly running out for you to vote for your favorite Redskins to the 2013 Pro Bowl.

The American Football Conference and National Football Conference Pro Bowl squads are compiled based on a consensus votes of fans, players and coaches, and each group’s vote counts one-third toward determining the 43-man rosters that represent the American Football Conference and National Football Conference in the Pro Bowl. NFL players and coaches will cast their votes Thursday and Friday.

Fan voting ends tonight, and can be accessed online and on web-enabled mobile phones by clicking here.

As of the league’s last count, several Redskins are among the top vote-getters at their respective positions in the NFC:

Quarterback:

- Robert Griffin III is in second place with 537,459 votes, and trails only the Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers (652,807).

Running back:

- Alfred Morrisis in fifth place, trailing, among others, No. 1 Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings (668,942 votes) and No. 2 Marshawn Lynch of the Seattle Seahawks (431,114).

Fullback:

- Darrel Young is in third place, trailing, among others, leader John Kuhn of the Green Bay Packers, who has 157,326 votes.

Special teams:

- Lorenzo Alexanderis also in third place, trailing first-place C.J. Spillman of the San Francisco 49ers, who has 76,941 votes.

Redskins fans today should also make a huge push to get left tackle Trent Williams many, many more votes. Head coach Mike Shanahan is among many who have said that Williams is playing as well as any tackle in the league. Williams is currently not in the Top 5 of fan voting at the tackle position, which is being led by Vikings’ Matt Kalil’s 158,356 votes.

You Redskins fans have already had your voice heard several times this season, as you have voted several Washington players to weekly NFL awards — most notably the NFL Rookie of the Week, which has been won by a Redskins player eight of 15 weeks in 2012.

So let’s get one more final push to get your favorite Redskins players several more votes so the team can have a large contingent in Hawaii.
