Morris, Cousins Continue Winning Ways
Posted by on December 14, 2012 – 4:25 pm

The Redskins are on a roll.
On the field, the team has built a four-game winning streak and remains in the hunt for a playoff spot.
Off the field, its players keep getting national recognition for their tremendous performances.
The NFL announced today that rookies Alfred Morris and Kirk Cousins each won separate weekly league awards, as Morris, a running back, was named NFL Rookie of the Week, while Cousins, a quarterback, won the “Never Say Die” moment of the week.

Gibbs On Super Bowls, Racing Titles
Posted by on December 14, 2012 – 2:42 pmIt took Joe Gibbs just two seasons to win a Super Bowl title as head coach of the Washington Redskins.
So when Gibbs took over a NASCAR team in 1992, many thought it wouldn’t be long until his winning ways rubbed off in racing.
They were right.
Just nine seasons later, Gibbs hoisted a different kind of trophy — the Winston Cup championship — after his driver, Bobby Labonte, claimed the 2000 title.
Gibbs earlier this week stopped by Redskins Park and talked with Larry Michael, the Voice of the Redskins, for a segment on “Redskins Nation,” and compared winning a Super Bowl to winning a NASCAR championship.

Posted by on December 14, 2012 – 2:21 pm
He’s been given nicknames like “lumberjack,” “Neanderthal,” “gym rat” and more, but today, Redskins fans got the chance to meet the tight end behind the beard.
Logan Paulsen conducted the team’s seventh Google+ Hangout of the season, as he “hung out” with six fans who had lots of great questions for Paulsen about his life on and off the football field.
Here’s the video of today’s Google+ Hangout with Paulsen:

Week 15 Power Rankings Roundup
Posted by on December 14, 2012 – 1:00 pmOne week after the Redskins were ranked 14th in all seven of the Power Rankings organizations listed below, the team is making big strides up the lists — except in one case (see below).
The Redskins — who are riding a four-game winning streak heading into Sunday’s game at the Cleveland Browns — are slowly creeping towards the Top 10 in nearly every list, where they are averaging out as the 12th-ranked team in the NFL.
Some organizations understandably are cautious about the Redskins this week, as they are awaiting to see if injured quarterback Robert Griffin III (knee) will be ready to go against the Browns, or if backup Kirk Cousins will get his first-career start.
Here’s where the Redskins fall with this week’s Power Rankings Roundup:

Help Kai Forbath, Win His Kicking Cleat
Posted by on December 14, 2012 – 12:15 pm
Kai Forbath needs your help.
The Washington Redskins kicker is trying to eclipse 15,000 Twitter followers, and he’s willing to reward a lucky fan for their troubles.
Forbath said he will sign and send the first cleat he ever used with the Redskins this season (see photo above) to the first person to correctly answer a trivia question once he reaches the 15,000-follower plateau.
The first-year kicker has a way to go — he’s currently around 8,500 followers — but I’m willing to bet that, with continued success on the field, Forbath will see that number increase as quickly as he’s hoping.
