VIDEO: Evolution Of The Burgundy & Gold

Here’s some tidbits from the piece, which is entitled “The Evolution of Colors:”
- The Redskins’ colors of burgundy and gold were chosen by the team’s first owner, George Preston Marshall.
- The colors are “regal,” yet “colorful and vibrant” enough to be different, which was important to Marshall, according to one historian.
- Marshall introduced the first graphic logos to jerseys in the early 1930s, and moved the logo to the shoulders by the mid 1930s.
- Other than minor modernizations, the Redskins haven’t changed their current uniforms’ look in three decades.
